One Day Interfaith Conference at Peace Center
 Nature of Interfaith Harmony and Challenges in Pakistan

 Peace Center Lahore organized an Interfaith conference with the theme of Nature of Interfaith Harmony and Challenges in Pakistan on 21 November, 2024. Peace Center Lahore, organized with the collaboration of Islamic Supreme Council Canada, Unity Assist Foundation and Human Welfare & Development Organization. Professor Imam Syed Badinddin Suhrawardy came from Canada and he was the chief guest. More than 50 Interfaith leaders participated in this interfaith conference. Syed Badinddian Soharwardy President Islamic Supreme Council Canada presented the Life time Achievement Peace Award to Fr. James Channan OP for his great services to promote Interfaith Harmony and Peace among the religions in Pakistan and around the World.

Here comes another international “Lifetime Achievement Peace Award” from Canada! It was presented to Fr. James Channan OP in this Interfaith conference with the theme of Nature of Interfaith Harmony and Challenges in Pakistan by Prof. Syed Badiuddin Sohrawardy, President, Islamic Supreme Council of Canada.

Fr. James Channan OP said that I am very much thankful to Islamic Supreme Council of Canada for recognizing my services in promoting interfaith harmony and peace in Pakistan and around the globe!

Allama Dr. Badar Munir welcomed to all honorable guest and with it he presented the introduction of Syed Badiuddin Soharwardy, President, Islamic Supreme Council of Canada.

Prof. Syed Badiuddin Soharwardy (born 1955 in Karachi) is a scholar, a shaykh of the Sohrawardy Sufi order, chairman of the Al-Madinah Calgary Islamic Assembly, and is the founder and current president of the Islamic Supreme Council of Canada. Imam Soharwardy is a strong advocate of Islamic Tasawuf (Sufism) and believers that the world will be a better place for everyone if we follow what the Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him) has said, you will not have faith unless you like for others what you like for yourself. He believes that spiritual weakness in human causes all kinds of problems.

Pandit Baghat Lal Khokhar, Mufti Ashiq Hussain, Sardar Sikandar Singh, Pastor Asif Khokhar, Advocate Nadia Hameed, Samuel Payara, Dr. Rizwan Hussain, Advocate Anjum Ghori, Dr. Shirjil participated in question and answering session.
