“Strengthening Interfaith Collaboration: Christian–Muslim Dialogue Partnership
Meeting with Christian Study Center”
A formal consultative meeting was held on 20 February 2026 at the Christian Study Center (CSC), Rawalpindi, between Peace Center Lahore and the Christian Study Center. The meeting was attended by Fr. James Channan OP, Director of Peace Center Lahore, Mr. Asher Nazir, Executive Secretary, and Madam Neelam Nisari, Program Manager. The delegation was warmly received by The Rt. Rev. Samuel Azariah, Director of CSC, along with his team. Bishop Samuel Azariah extended a cordial welcome to Fr. James Channan OP and the Peace Center delegation, appreciating their continued efforts for promoting peace and interfaith harmony in Pakistan.

Presentation and Project Appreciation: During the meeting, Fr. James Channan OP and Mr. Asher Nazir delivered a detailed presentation on the project titled “Interreligious and Christian–Muslim Dialogue in Pakistan.” The presentation highlighted the vision, objectives, and planned activities of the project, with a particular focus on promoting dialogue, mutual understanding, and peaceful coexistence among diverse religious communities. Special emphasis was placed on engaging youth and women as key stakeholders and ambassadors of peace. Bishop Samuel Azariah and the CSC team expressed their appreciation for the initiative, describing it as a timely and impactful project. The Bishop Samuel Azariah acknowledged the importance of such efforts in strengthening interfaith relations in Pakistan and commended the focus on youth and women as a strategic and forward-looking approach. He further expressed his satisfaction and willingness to collaborate with Peace Center Lahore in the implementation of this project.
Strengthening Institutional Collaboration: The meeting was conducted in a highly professional and constructive atmosphere, reflecting a shared vision of promoting tolerance, inclusion, and mutual respect. Both organizations discussed practical ways to strengthen institutional collaboration and agreed to work together under the framework of the proposed project. The partnership is expected to serve as a platform for sustained interfaith engagement and joint initiatives.
Promoting Interfaith Dialogue and Outreach: The participants emphasized the importance of structured and continuous interfaith dialogue to address misunderstandings and build trust among communities. It was agreed that outreach efforts should extend to grassroots levels to ensure wider participation and inclusivity. Both institutions showed commitment to organizing joi nt seminars, workshops, and dialogue sessions aimed at fostering social cohesion and harmony.

Empowering Youth and Women: A key outcome of the discussion was the shared recognition of the vital role of youth and women in peacebuilding. Both Peace Center Lahore and CSC agreed to prioritize their involvement through capacity-building programs and leadership opportunities, enabling them to actively contribute to promoting interfaith harmony in their respective communities. Conclusion: The meeting concluded on a positive and encouraging note, marking an important step toward a strengthened partnership between Peace Center Lahore and the Christian Study Center. Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to working collaboratively for the promotion of interfaith dialogue, peacebuilding, and social harmony in Pakistan. It was collectively acknowledged that such joint efforts are essential for building a more inclusive, peaceful, and united society.
